Job Description
American Express is looking for a highly analytical and motivated data analytics analyst to join their Global Merchant and Network Services analytics team in Gurugram. This is a hybrid role with day shift timings, giving you an excellent work-life balance.
The Global Merchant and Network Services organisation manages relationships with millions of merchants and partners around the world who facilitate American Express payment acceptance. Within this organisation the newly created UMGEA team — US Merchant Marketing, Global Marketing Execution and Analytics — is responsible for leveraging marketing and analytics capabilities to drive sustainable business growth.
In this role you will work on the GMNS Analytics team, which partners with global markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate acceptance and amplify the value of American Express to merchants, bank partners and card members at massive scale. You will use powerful data tools and generate actionable insights that attract new businesses to engage with American Express and help existing businesses improve their performance.

Key Responsibilities
Analytics and Reporting:
Support reporting, measurement and analytical foundations for evolving acquiring models in payments space
Evaluate current reporting to identify automation opportunities and eliminate redundancies
Address reporting gaps and develop improved reporting solutions for business teams
Create solutions focusing on strategic priorities and driving measurable business outcomes
Effectively use personalization capabilities to optimize business objectives and performance
Data Quality and Automation:
Focus on data quality by leveraging internal American Express data systems
Support automation and scaling of analytics using relevant modern data tools
Support conception and development of data tools and treatments that drive merchant value
Enable greater merchant engagement across multiple channels through data-driven solutions
Evaluate new advanced analytics techniques to build on existing analytical solutions
Business Intelligence:
Understand how GMNS’s business strategy is enabled through existing analytical solutions
Identify emerging data capabilities that can be built to address key business needs

Technical Skills Must Have:
Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis
Experience with Google BigQuery for large-scale data processing
Knowledge of Python or R for statistical analysis and data manipulation
Familiarity with Tableau for data visualization and dashboard creation
Ability to work with unstructured and semi-structured data sets
Understanding of data quality frameworks and data governance
Technical Skills Good to Have:
Experience with PySpark for large-scale data processing
